Gail was super friendly and very knowledgable about each of the Michigan craft beers they had to offer. For Rick, she recommended the Dragon’s Milk, brewed by another Michigan small business, the New Holland Brewing Company. It was fantastic choice.  I’m not a big beer fan, but Gail brought me a sample of Soft Parade from Short’s Brewing Company in Bellaire, Michigan and it was yummy.

The burgers were big, fresh, and good quality meat. I chose the Jalapeno Bacon & Pepper Jack Burger (#7) and Rick had the California turkey burger (#15). But oh, the onion rings! Best we’ve ever had, and, unfortunately, my attempts to discover the secret recipe were to no avail.

We had some lovely conversation with Gail and with the couple seated nearby – another Michigan small business owner! Heidi owns the YOLO Salon, also on US 23, and we talked business, websites, and beer.

What a lovely afternoon – can’t wait to see where we end up next.
